Get directly involved in amplifying the mission of Key Conservation! Key Ambassadors are in charge of bringing the Key mission to their university, highschool and/or local communities by hosting meetups, events, and more. If you are passionate about connecting people with conservation efforts around the world and empowering people to make a difference then we want to hear from you.

LOCATION: Join our team remotely. 

DESCRIPTION:

Are you a college or high school student who wants to help us spread the word about the Key Conservation app and #ConservationOptimism? Key Conservation is looking for ambassadors who will work with our team to engage students to have a conservation impact, outreach with local conservation groups and build momentum around Key.

POTENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Build campus support and awareness of Key Conservation

  • Connect with local conservation organizations and host student volunteer days

  • Encourage students from all different majors to use their skills for conservation 

  • Organize conservation-based events such as film screenings and talks 

  • Engage in social media outreach, student newspapers, etc. 

  • Present at club events, in classes, career days, etc.

  • Develop content to showcase how students can get involved 

  • Spread posters, flyers, stickers and conservation optimism!

 

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current enrollment in high school, undergraduate or graduate program 

  • Excellent written and verbal skills

  • Proficient with common social media platforms

  • Passion and optimism for the natural world a must, experience in the conservation field a plus but not required

  • Committed to sharing fact-based science

  • Able to be self-motivated, innovative and flexible to work remotely with a fast-paced startup 

  • Must be able to work as part of a team

 

LENGTH AND COMPENSATION:

  • Hours and length: 6 months and schedule is flexible to fit the applicant's availability 

  • This position is unpaid but we are passionate about helping our fellows gain valuable skills and connections to advance their career in conservation.

  • Willing to provide school credit, if applicable

SUPPORT:

Ambassadors will be supported by our team and by our community of like-minded ambassadors around the world. We will provide mentoring and guidance in setting goals as an ambassador so you can make the most of your time with us. You will be supported through brainstorming, developing action plans and carrying out your ideas. We will also provide you with tools, information, and material to prepare you for taking action and spreading the word.
