GRANT WRITING VOLUNTEER

Help us find support for infrastructure and app development.

LOCATION:

San Diego, California but open to applicants working remotely

DESCRIPTION:

Do you love writing and are passionate about wildlife conservation? Do you want to help us bring the Key app to the world? Key Conservation is looking for a grant writing volunteer who will identify funding opportunities and draft proposals that will help support our infrastructure and the continued development of the app.

 

POTENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Locate fundraising and grant opportunities

  • Research and draft proposals 

  • Help prepare materials for donors and investors     

  • If interested, potential to help assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events

 

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school degree required

  • Excellent written and verbal skills

  • Past writing experience preferred

  • Enjoys research and is detailed oriented 

  • Passion and optimism for the natural world a must, experience in the conservation field a plus but not required

  • Able to work in a fast-paced startup environment and be willing to be flexible

  • Must be able to work as part of a team

 

LENGTH AND COMPENSATION:

  • Hours and length: 3 months and schedule is flexible to fit the applicant's availability 

  • This position is unpaid but we are passionate about helping our volunteers gain valuable skills and connections to advance their career in conservation.

  • Willing to provide school credit, if applicable
